Landscape – Scene – Architecture
I have been selling original works since the beginning of my career as an artist.
Charcoal, oil pastels, brush and ink, pen, colour ink, and drawings on warm white paper or on printed Victorian poetry and classic architectural books.
Created in situ or in my studio; during my travels, on planes and trains, on friends’ kitchen tables and at home.
Sometimes these pieces capture an immediacy and directness in their relationship with the subject that cannot be replicated later in larger works or prints.
I have often been reluctant to sell my original work. My ink drawings are frequently made on marker paper, which creases very easily. I love creased paper; it is part of its nature.
I also know that the often monochromatic quality of these works might not seem as immediately exciting, although I love the graphic quality of black ink and the velvety feel of charcoal.
These original works are made on paper that may naturally bend or crease. These characteristics are part of the material and should be expected and cherished.
Original works may also be available through selected galleries and exhibitions. Please enquire for current availability.
