Dragons Ditty

I’m delighted to introduce four new prints in the series Dragons Ditty: Royal Pavilion. Since moving to Brighton in 2005 I’ve been fascinated by this extraordinary building, and in these new works my dragons return—slipping through its gates and gardens.

The Dragons at the Royal Pavilion in Brighton have come out to play at the gardens! These dragons are a homage to Cheng Rong Nine Dragons Scroll; Hokusai’s Book of Everything and Chinoiserie art.

“Truly, young gentlemen, though there was no great matter in the ditty, yet the note was very untunable”. Shakespeare. As You Like It. Act 5, Scene 3
