This fabric was designed as part of a renovation of my flat in Brunswick Square in Brighton. The pattern is composed to sepia and blue my drawings of scenes of Hove and Brighton. It includes iconic Brighton and Hove buildings, seagulls, the promenade, deck chairs on the beach and more.
I have named the design ‘Brighton and Hove alej ez sketch pattern’ because it is a repeat pattern. 7 metres of this design was sent to print and my friend and upholsterer Hillary created the covers for an Ercol armchair that I already had and a day bed I have designed and built with plywood and a made to measure mattress.
The pattern design shows the full elevation of the house where my flat is, that happens to be three doors up from The Regency Town House at Brunswick Square; the promenade, seagulls, Brighton modern architecture Sussex Heights, Victorian Palmeria Square, St Nicolas Church, The West Pier and the Palace Pier, The Royal Pavilion, beach huts, Victorian Lamp posts, Amon Wilds Capital, gothic Wykeham Terrace, the Helter Skelter and more.
