Atelier by the Sea

This September I’ll be showing a new series of three limited-edition prints featuring cats in Naples, as part of Feline Groovy, an exhibition dedicated to cats in art.

Il Gatto Addormentato a Sant’Elmo, Napoli 🐈‍⬛

A sleeping cat, the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius in the distance.

This is one of three new prints inspired by my visit to Naples in April 2026. I wanted to capture more than the famous views of Vesuvius — the architecture, landscapes, street life and, of course, the cats that seem to be everywhere.

The original drawings were made in ink, with some of the work completed later in Wales, with Toby the cat keeping me company.

Three cats, one Naples

The three prints form a small series looking at Naples through its cats and its streets. Each one combines the things I noticed while walking around the city: its buildings, views, colours, people and the cats that are such a familiar part of everyday life.
