Palmeira Brunswick and the Two Piers Antique Blue and Ochre

Print description

Beach huts in the heart of the city with the backdrop of Georgian Crescents and Squares facing the sea. In view is Victorian Palmeira Square; the quintessential Brighton and Hove painted timber beach huts; the magnificent Georgian Brunswick Terrace and Square, The Peace Angle Statue,  The I360 Tower, The Band Stand, The promenade with the iron wrought green painted railings; and by the sea shore the Brighton Palace Pier and the West Pier Remains.

This print belongs tonal collection named ‘Antique Blue and Ochre’. This is the first colour scheme palette I developed. The colours are inspired from a small antique drawing of a palace in India from a drawing I found  at the Museum of Fine Arts in San Francisco. It was a decision out of instinctive preference of aesthetics that lead to a form a modern print with an strong echo from the past.
